Originally developed in Massachusetts in 1901, the Brown's Beach brand was built for people who loved the outdoors and with intention of combatting the bleak Winter weather. The unique combination of wool and cotton with its signature 'beach cloth' weave proved popular and is now viewed as one of the key workwear style fabrics. The Brown's Beach label sadly ceased production in the 1960's but thankfully du to a wider interest has been countlessly reproduced by many brands.
This example of Brown's Beach has been reproduced in Japan by Full Count, who managed to acquire the official licence in 2010 to manufacture under the Brown's Beach label. They have updated the fit and silhouette in-keeping with modern day wear while the unique combination of warm inner wool fleece and a knitted cotton face that is water resistant is ever present.
The Early Vest is one of the signature styles in the Brown's Beach range. The iconic 'Beach Cloth' is created by taking a range of varying count threads in two different colours and twisting them, creating a twill that provides the workwear 'salt & pepper' style.
Available in the classic Oxford Grey & Navy Stripe, the Early Vest features a 6 button snap front and four, multi-functional u-shaped pockets, with piping throughout. A cinch back fastener and woven Brown's Beach label completes the look.
